Crown Center Fountains

Kansas City is known as the "City of Fountains." And Crown Center is proud of its contribution to the city's reputation! We have many fountains, but the Crown Center Square Fountain is the biggest and best. A few facts about it:

  • 49 water jets and 48 water shooters spout up to 60 feet in the air, before coming back to a 37,500-gallon underground reservoir. Water is recycled into the fountain at a rate of 2,200 gallons per minute.
  • Check out our dancing water shows, synchronized to music recorded for Crown Center by members of the Kansas City Symphony. (During the shows, high pressure jets shoot sprays of water in specially choreographed patterns. For your safety, playing or standing in the fountains during the water show is not permitted.)
  • Regular show schedule: Weekday shows at noon and on the hour from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Weekend shows on the hour from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is also a 10 p.m. show on Friday and Saturday.
  • People are not permitted to play in the Crown Center Square Fountain.

Please note the fountain is sometimes turned off due to events or routine maintenance. If you're planning a special trip to see it, please contact our Customer Service office at 816-274-8444 to ensure the fountain is running.
