The American to host 21st Annual Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner on Saturday, March 7
Executive Chef Andrew Longres will welcome award-winning chefs from various regions of the nation to prepare the special 6-course dinner; local wine expert, Ryan Sciara, will expertly pair the dinner’s wines
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 14, 2020) – The American will host its annual Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner for the 21st time on Saturday, March 7, making it the longest-running host of a Friends of James Beard Benefit in the nation. The dinner is part of The American’s Concept Series, an annual collection of culinary experiences open to the public hosted at the iconic restaurant, named the 2018 recipient of the James Beard Foundation’s Design Icon award.
The dinner will feature six guest chefs, invited by The American Executive Chef Andrew Longres, from across the nation, each preparing one of six courses. Longres will prepare the hors d’oeuvres and Ryan Sciara, owner of Kansas City-based Underdog Wine Co., will pair wines with each course.
