April 26 – May 18, Music of the Night
MTH Theater, Crown Center Shops, Level 3. This is an open-air rooftop performance at The Westin Kansas City games deck. A tribute concert, Music of the Night celebrates the songs of legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Hear the iconic tunes under the evening stars overlooking the gorgeous Kansas City skyline. Music from Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express and more. Be a part of this unique and magical experience – only 6 live performances with limited seating. April 30 – May 30, How to Snag A Sea Monster
The Coterie, Crown Center Shops, Level 1. The Coterie presents Mesner Puppet Theater’s production of How to Snag a Sea Monster: A Terrifically Tall Tale. After a monstrous wave washed a creature ashore, the people of a small Cape Cod town hear it wailing. Is it a sea monster in their midst? No, it’s a baby as big as a house! The village adopts the giant baby, whom they name Stormalong – “Stormy” for short. Growing to over 24 feet, Stormy struggles to fit in, and chooses a life at sea aboard a clipper ship to find a place in the world. Meanwhile, a bullying sea monster, the colossal kraken, torments the village… and only Stormy is big enough to save them all.

May 29 – September 6, Under the Sea Adventure
Showplace, Crown Center Shops, Level 1. Plunge into a fun, creative environment in this free exhibit that will delight kids who love to explore the deep blue sea. Discover buried treasure in a sunken pirate ship, ride a dolphin and seahorses, paddle your way to the mermaid's house, explore in the submarine, and many more aquatic adventures. May 29 – September 6, Greetings, Saul Steinberg
Gallery at 2450, Crown Center Shops, Level 2. Presented by the Hallmark Art Collection, this exhibition features dozens of original mixed media drawings by Saul Steinberg. Perhaps best known for his cover illustrations for The New Yorker magazine, Steinberg was born in 1914 to a Jewish family in Romania, but fled Europe in 1941 to escape the persecution of Jews. While living in the U.S., Steinberg collaborated with many companies who featured his memorable illustrations on their products. He had a long partnership with Hallmark Cards, creating over 100 works for greeting cards, calendars, and gift products. In this exhibition, viewers will see a selection of Steinberg’s original drawings from the 1950s and 60s, as well as historic products and correspondence from the Hallmark Archives. Adventure HQ, Crown Center Customer Service, Crown Center Shops, Level 2. Adventure awaits those ready to embark on a journey this summer. Get ready to explore the various worlds within Crown Center. Go snout to snout with a sea turtle at SEA LIFE Aquarium, slay a dragon’s hunger at The Coterie Theatre and go on a quest to find some of Crown Center’s most elusive markings. Choose an adventure and complete your mission, collecting passport stamps along the way. Collect enough stamps and you will earn a prize. June 4 – 5, Hospital Hill Run – 48th Annual
Crown Center Square. This premier Kansas City road-racing event is nationally recognized by Runner’s World magazine. The 5K, 10K and ½-Marathon begin at 7 a.m. on Grand Boulevard. Expo and packet pick-up at the Entertainment Pavilion, Crown Center Square, Friday, June 4. Saturday, June 5, all races start and end at Crown Center Square. June 10 - 27, Blame It On The Boogie
MTH Theater, Crown Center Shops, Level 3. An original MTH tribute concert celebrating the evolution of Disco, how it infiltrated musical theater and how it helped define American cultures. Four-on-the-floor beats, syncopated bass lines and synthesizers typified the disco culture that emerged in the 1970s and energized a generation. June 28 – 29, Musical Monday & Tuesday: Las Vegas Cabaret
MTH Theater, Crown Center Shops, Level 3. The critically acclaimed Musical Monday & Tuesday series is one of the hottest musical showcases in Kansas City. The Coterie, Outdoor Performances,Crown Center Entertainment Pavilion. The Coterie presents 306 Theatre Troupe (from UMKC Theatre). A boy and his dog are watching a TV show about dragons when a mind-blowing secret is revealed: Dragons love tacos! Chicken tacos, beef tacos, great big tacos, teeny tiny tacos, all kinds of tacos. So, the boy and his dog throw a taco party to end all taco parties for a flock of dragons. This hilarious, dance-filled journey into the field of Dragonology is equal parts ridiculous and delicious and has all the ingredients for a fantastic time! In this MTH premiere, award-winning actor/musician, Zachary Stevenson takes you on an unusual journey as an actor with the unintentional propensity for musical resurrection. With intimate stories and iconic songs, Dead Ringer is a charming glimpse inside the actor’s life and the artists he inhabits.
